Ana María Gómez designs imaginative textiles that blur the lines between wearable art and functional furnishings.

Featuring unexpectedly harmonious colors, her collections often result from collaborative encounters with traditional textile artisans.

Textiles as Art

Ana María investigates the relationship between textile, body and space.

Knotting Knitting

Voluminous, knitted tubes are stitched together in bright and imaginative patterns, for a uniquely modern take on the quilt.

‘A Boi’ 2021 Pillow

An ongoing series of pillow collaborations between Ana María and William Contreras, a talented artisan from a town full of weaving knowledge: Cucunubá, Colombia.

Translated as her or his plaid in Muisca, the language spoken for centuries by the indigenous people of Colombia, ‘a boi’ was once a valuable bartering tool, sometimes worth its weight in gold.

Redefining Craft Across Cultures

Born in Colombia and trained at the prestigious Brussels fashion academy La Cambre, Ana María's worldly perspective shines brightly in her genre-bending work. In recent years, she has explored how textiles can be used to communicate across social borders and cultural divides.
